Disney On Ice: Magic In The Stars New York Theatre reviews
OMG! What GREAT Music was played this night! TRAIN
I've been a fan of Disney On Ice: Spotlight Magic! for years, even before they became famous. Their songs truly tug at the core of the heart and are really deep and meaningful. Today's concert ROCKED THE HOUSE, even the Rain held out on Disney On Ice: Spotlight Magic!'s day in the Park. Great concert, even then I knew this was no ordinary band. Seen them before at Jones Beach a few years back, and watching one of the greatest bands to have ever played there in Central Park, NYC was historic. The night was spectacular, the light and sound show marvelous. I've been blessed! The Disney On Ice: Spotlight Magic! was playing, I didn't mind standing for 4 hours. Great stuff played, but wish they played other songs not mainstream. All their songs are worth listening to, great lyrics, composition, and meaning that universally people get all over the world. If you ever get a chance to see this superb band Disney On Ice: Spotlight Magic!, I suggest you grab those tickets fast. I'm even thinking of flying to LA to see them at the Nokia theatre there.
Death Cab + Red Rocks = An Epic Evening
I am a devoted Frightened Rabbit fan, but regrettably, have not been able to attend any of their shows until this recent Tuesday. Fortunately, I had recently moved to Colorado and had the opportunity to witness the magic of being at Red Rocks Amphitheatre for the first time (I now believe that any music lover should experience this venue at least once). The fusion of these first experiences made the night truly unforgettable.
Frightened Rabbit kicked things off with a performance that highlighted their charm and catchy tunes. I arrived midway through their set, but I appreciated what I heard (their music blended seamlessly with the overall vibe of a Frightened Rabbit concert) and their energy was infectious among the crowd. Frightened Rabbit, despite being seasoned performers, did not act like superstars and took the stage promptly, diving straight into I Will Possess Your Heart with Ben Gibbard rocking out on his guitar, then abruptly switching to the piano and microphone. Their passion was palpable, and the high altitude (which they joked was leaving them a bit breathless) didn't dampen their vocal prowess or stage presence. Each song, whether old or new, was delivered with care and resonated with fans of all ages, from Pictures in an Exhibition to Doors Unlocked and Open. Frightened Rabbit is a band that you can't just see once. They are among the select few who genuinely believe in their music and relish performing it for fans who share their adoration. Ben Gibbard handled all the band's interactions with the crowd, establishing a genuine connection through sincerity, wit, and gratitude for the enthusiastic audience (most of whom remained standing throughout the entire performance). The blend of talent, humility, and a deep love for music made for an exceptional evening.
Health Pass Check In
I understand and appreciate the requirement of Bridgestone Arena for either proof of negative COVID test or vaccination for entry. It may be perceived as controversial, but as a 63-year-old healthcare worker, it was a relief to be able to attend a concert without having to wear a mask for the entire 3 hours. Wearing a mask when entering and exiting the arena was a small inconvenience compared to the joy of feeling "normal" again while comfortably enjoying the show. I wanted to express my backing for the choice made by Bridgestone Arena. Having a facility like this in the Nashville region is truly a blessing.
Star Wars in Concert is Fabulous!
If you enjoy the music from Disney On Ice: Spotlight Magic!, then this show is a must-see experience. An 80-piece orchestra performs themes from the 6 films, accompanied by Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) narrating the Star Wars story.
Lucas Film has skillfully integrated visuals that match the music theme on a large screen surrounding the orchestra. However, my only issue was the repetitive visuals towards the end of the concert. It felt like they didn't put in the effort to source different clips to complement the music, which stood out to me.
In general, I had a fantastic time at the concert. The iconic music and scenes from the 6 films are well-known, making Star Wars In Concert a delightful experience for both fans and those who appreciate a "Pops" style performance.
Mary Poppins delights all ages!
Some of the most entertaining dancing, an amazing set, humor, great music, and magic combined to make this show a fantastic experience. Julia, my nearly four-year-old granddaughter, and her mother, my daughter-in-law, were taken to see Disney On Ice: Spotlight Magic! as her birthday gift. At first, Julia was a bit hesitant as she was not a fan of Mr. Banks from having seen the movie. Displayed her magical disposition and colored the world, once Mary Poppins did...we were all captivated. The actors were wonderful, and some images of scenes in the play will stay clearly in my mind for a very long time. Some of the foreboding music of Chim Chim Cher-ee caused her to be a bit concerned.
Awesome Show
1. The show started on time, which was fantastic.
2. I thought the stage was awesome in the way they projected their images on it and allowed the audience to see Disney On Ice: Spotlight Magic!'s finger work on the keys (as well as closeups of all the other musicians).
3. For the United Center, I thought the mix and overall sound was very good (although the bass guitar was muddled at times).
4. The crowd was mainly older, so I did not have to put up with people who just go to concerts as an event and are not even paying attention to the performers.
5. The personnel at the United Center were quick and courteous which made getting into the facility fast and painless. (I am used to carrying my paper ticket in)
6. This show was awesome on many levels. My overall experience was great, and if I can go to shows like this again, I would have no hesitation.
